Conclusion

The testimony of God's dealings is contained in Scripture and further attested in the life of his people down through the ages. For any one to assert their Christianity, Scripture plays a pivotal role by providing the concepts which shape one's identity and self understanding. This happens as we seek to answer the questions raised by our environments. However, the answers we come up with need not suppress other people's experience of their environments and rule as improper and undesirable their conviction that God could still be healing people today.

To assert that God still heals today is founded upon the inexhaustible kindness of God which has granted such a witness to experience the healing power of God. It is about maintaining the character of the gospel as 'good news' (Bonnke 1994: 119) to a world riddled with disease and deprived of access to sophisticated medical attention. Just as we have taken upon ourselves to continue the teaching ministry given to the disciples, we claim unashamedly that it was also a commission to heal and cast out demons (MacNutt 1988: 15). Thus God still heals today.
